Alison Deslandes
Specialist Sonographer - Endometriosis Researcher
Ali is a clinical academic sonographer based in Adelaide, Australia (Kaurna land), specialising in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound. She is passionate about diagnosing endometriosis using transvaginal ultrasound.
As a PhD candidate with the IMAGENDO group at the University of Adelaide, her research explores the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance endometriosis diagnosis. Specifically, she focuses on AI as a self-learning tool to support sonographers in mastering transvaginal ultrasound for this condition.
Ali previously completed a Master’s by research in 2022, also dedicated to improving endometriosis diagnosis through ultrasound. Her work bridges clinical practice and innovation, advancing ultrasound techniques to improve patient outcomes.
